Mystras. We left Monemvasia headed to Nafplio. On the way we stopped for lunch in
Sparta, then headed uphill to tour the old fortified town of Mystras. I think at one point
there were something like 40,000 people there; the site is surprisingly large
and sprawls up and down the mountainside. I'm sure everyone there had
very strong calves as there were a *LOT* of stairs. Our guide thoughtfully
took us to the top entrance and we worked our way down. I felt sorry for
all the folks working their way up instead.
